Christian Rost
Christian Rost is a businessman by trade and studied geography with a focus on economic, urban and regional development in Leipzig. Early 2014 he founded the Office for Urban Transitional Spaces and has since worked with his interdisciplinary team, and national and international partners in various projects. Christian Rost is an expert on local governance processes and investment management in the field of urban and regional development. He also likes to rely on unconventional methods. His area of special interest is the economic development of sole trader and small enterprises. Christian Rost is a voluntary board member for the trade association for cultural and creative industries in Leipzig, Creative Leipzig e.V. Prior to founding the Office for Urban Transitional Spaces, he was a project leader for Germany’s Competence Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries.

Frauke Rippin
Project Coordinator
Frauke Rippin initially trained in a medical profession and worked caring for mentally disabled people in a holistic and participatory facility. She then completed her Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies at Weimar’s Bauhaus-Universität and her Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning at Hamburg’s HafenCity University. Alongside her position as Project Coordinator and Research Assistant at the Office for Urban Transitional Spaces, she is currently finishing another part-time Master’s degree in Urban Studies with the professorial chair of social science of urban research at the Bauhaus-Universität. Her dissertation is on the topic of cultural and creative industries in rural areas. In addition, she is actively involved in the area of district development in Weimar-Schöndorf and in the East of Leipzig. As a result, she was able to co-create participation processes for various projects in educational institutions, in the area of business development and integration support. Furthermore, she is a volunteer member of the District Council of the West of Leipzig.

Maxi Blunck
Project Coordinator
Maxi Blunck is a graduate designer and certified mediator. In addition to project coordination, she also assists the team in tasks related to conflict management, and is also an expert on innovation and creative methods that are applied within the participation processes. She also runs strategy workshops and group mediation for associations and companies. Maxi Blunck is a member of the Mediators Association EnergieTanken of the Polish-German network e.V., which is dedicated to professionals and volunteers working with fugitives, as well as co-initiator of the think-tank Salon for experimental criticism in Leipzig.
